TVET

TAFE delivered Vocational Education and Training (TVET) courses allow high school students to gain workplace skills and experience as well as study industry-related courses to get a head start on their career whilst still at school.  TVET courses are usually packaged as 120 hour 2 unit courses and have the same attendance requirements as school-delivered courses.

Some of these courses require students to be placed in real- industry situations to gain work experience.  Careers Network facilitates the work placement requirements of these courses.

  • TVET courses give students more subjects to choose from, practical training and an insight into a certain career.

  • On completion you will receive two qualifications - units towards the HSC and a nationally recognised AQF award issued byTAFE NSW

  • Pathways are provided by TVET into higher level TAFE and university courses

  • Employers recognise TAFE qualifications

  • Students can learn in a different environment and meet other students from other schools who have the same interests. They also enjoy working with TAFE teachers who provide a hands on approach to learning and specialised industry knowledge.

  • Complete units that count towards your HSC.
